Elder Jalen Baxley
Elder Baxley was born in Lumberton, NC to Florinda Chavis and Marcus Baxley, Sr. He is the eldest of 12 children, the grandson of Daily and Betty Council, and also the grandson of the late Thesta Hill Baxley and Rufus T. Baxley.
Jalen was raised in Lumberton as a member of Mt. Carmel Holy Church of Worship, INC., under the leadership of the late Pastor Lossie Baxley. After the passing of Pastor Baxley, he then sat under the leadership of Pastor Wanda Council. Over the course of time, he listened to the leading of the Lord and went home to First New Light Missionary Baptist Church in White Oak, NC under the leadership of Pastor Obie L. Worley, Sr.
During his time at First New Light, he received Christ as his Lord and personal Savior. He baptized in Jesus name and filled with the Holy Ghost at the age of 8. Jalen harkened to the call of the Lord to enter into the Ministry in June of 2013. After years of conviction, he finally took heed to the call on his life in September of 2017. Jalen was a member of the Male Chorus and the Youth/Young Adult Choir. He then preached his initial sermon on June 10, 2018 and was licensed as a Minister of the Gospel, serving there until September of 2019.
Jalen graduated from West Bladen High School in 2019. Currently, he is a freshman at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke where he is studying Psychology.
After seeking the leading of the Lord, on September 15, 2019, he joined Inner Circle Holiness Church of Deliverance under the leadership of Chief Apostle Charles E. Marsh, Jr. He was ordained as an Elder in the Lord's church on November 10, 2019 where he serves passionately and fervently in not only his church but his school. Jalen believes that you can experience God anywhere, not just the four walls of the edifice. He takes God with him everywhere he goes and will never stop serving!
